11th-grade students, both public and Catholic schools, are required to attend all confirmation sessions through our parish. Holy Cross is embracing a program called PURPOSE that is put together by Life Teen.
The Life Teen PURPOSE program is a transformational program geared to answer deep questions, while focusing on three primary categories of the faith: Why God? Why Jesus and Why Church?
The goal of the program is to create a space for teens to ask questions and grow into appreciating their own personal purpose in life. Our parish conducts Confirmation interviews every year and what is interesting is that 95% of teens all have the fundamental question, “what is my purpose?”
This program teaches them that at the heart of the Christian life is the purpose: “There is a God that loves them, He lives within them, there is a world that needs him, and so he sends them to them.” The Goal is to be a missionary Disciple. This program not only gives great catechetical content but weds the content with lived application.
